Allston Brighton Little League
Code of Conduct
(Updated February 2026)
Allston Brighton Little League’s primary goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and positive environment for youth development through baseball and softball. Sportsmanship, safety, and character come first; winning and individual performance are secondary.
This Code of Conduct applies to all players, coaches, volunteers, families, and spectators at all league games, practices, and events.
All participants are expected to:
Be Safe
- Follow all league safety rules and instructions.
- Use equipment properly and responsibly.
- Avoid physical or verbal behavior that puts others at risk.
- Comply with the League Safety Plan and emergency procedures.
Be Respectful
- Treat players, coaches, umpires, volunteers, and spectators with respect.
- Use appropriate language and behavior at all times.
- Accept umpire decisions without complaint. (Head coaches may respectfully question rule applications, not judgment calls.)
- Treat fields, facilities, and equipment with care.
Be Sportsmanlike
- Play hard and play fair.
- Encourage teammates and show appreciation for good effort from both teams.
- Win and lose with integrity.
In addition:
- Players must play by the rules of the game and accept coaches’ decisions without complaint.
- Head coaches must monitor the behavior of their players, assistant coaches, and spectators, and act immediately to stop unsportsmanlike behavior.
- All coaches must follow the rules, treat each player as an individual, recognize and reward effort as well as talent, and promote sportsmanship.
- Spectators are encouraged to cheer for both teams and may not challenge or criticize a coach’s decision.
Zero Tolerance Policy:
Any player, coach, or spectator who violates this Code of Conduct may be dismissed from the field by the umpire or head coaches.
